One driver, many devices

A graphics driver is the software that lets games draw on your device's graphics chip. I build each of my drivers on one device I own. Players then try them on their own phones and handhelds, and some of those work too.

This page shows, for each driver, the device it was built on and every other device it has been seen running on, with a link to the proof.

At a glance

The number is how many different devices each driver has been seen working on so far. Tap a driver to see the list.

What the labels mean

The drivers

Turnip is for phones and handhelds with a Qualcomm Snapdragon chip (Adreno graphics). PanVK is for chips with Arm Mali graphics, used by MediaTek, Google Tensor, Rockchip, Samsung Exynos, and Unisoc.

Turnip · Adreno

Turnip by faux123

For Qualcomm Snapdragon devices. Built on the AYN Odin 3 (Adreno 830).

DownloadLatest public release v1.1.7

This one has the widest reach. Turnip speaks the same language to every modern Adreno chip, so the same file has run on five generations of Snapdragon graphics, from 2021 Galaxy phones to the newest handhelds.

PanVK for Pixel 7

Built on the Google Pixel 7 (Tensor G2, Mali-G710).

DownloadLatest public release v0.11.0

Made for one phone, and already running on the two generations after it. Pixel 8a and Pixel 9 owners have loaded it and passed the full driver check on their newer Mali-G715 chips.

Built on the GameForce Ace (Rockchip RK3588S, Mali-G610).

The surprise of the group. Players have loaded it on phones with very different Mali chips: a POCO X7 Pro passed the driver check on its Mali-G720, and an Oppo A6 5G got it loading on a small Mali-G57.

PanVK for Retroid Pocket 4 Pro

Built on the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro (MediaTek Dimensity 1100, Mali-G77).

DownloadLatest public release v0.16.0

Built for the RP4 Pro, and the best candidate for other MediaTek handhelds and phones with Mali-G77 graphics. Sharing the chip is not enough on its own: a Galaxy Note20 Ultra owner reported it does not work on that phone. If you run it on another device, a FauxVkTest upload puts your device on this list.

Same graphics chip family, but the driver did not work there. A matching chip is a good sign, not a promise.

PanVK for Anbernic RG556

Built on the Anbernic RG556 (Unisoc T820, Mali-G57).

DownloadLatest public release v0.15.0

The narrowest of the five. It talks to the graphics chip the way Arm's own kernel driver expects, and MediaTek devices use a different one, so it does not work on them. On a Samsung Exynos phone it does: a Galaxy A16 5G owner played two games with it.

  • MediaTek devices. Use the Retroid Pocket 4 Pro driver there.

How to use one

  1. Download the driver. It is one ZIP file. Do not unpack it.

  2. Open an emulator or game launcher that can load custom drivers (for example Winlator, GameNative, or Eden), find its graphics driver setting, and choose the ZIP file.

  3. Want to check it first, or add your device to this page? Run a driver check in FauxVkTest and upload the result to FauxVkDB.

These drivers come with no support. A driver can do better than your device's own driver in one game and worse in another. Your device's own driver stays installed, and every other app keeps using it.
